MY BIZARRE PAST
I grew up and attended college in rural Illinois. I graduated college with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. I have had a pretty random variety of jobs over the years…management trainee at a life insurance company in Illinois, marketing manager at a swimming pool company in Arkansas, youth and young adult pastor at a church in Virginia, and finally before photography, I was a special assistant to the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Weird, right!?! If you are ever interested in hearing the story in detail, let me know, it’s actually pretty entertaining. ;)
WHY I DO WHAT I DO NOW
I started my photography business in 2008 and have been doing it full-time since 2009. When my husband and I moved to Denver in March of 2010 is when I made the decision to specialize and only photograph high school seniors. It’s just the absolute perfect fit for me and my personality and I adore my job. I love the artistic side of photography, I love style, and mainly I am incredibly passionate about your generation of young women. This world throws you so many expectations for how you “should” look, act and even feel. But the truth is that you were created to look, act and feel like only you. You are unique and special and perfectly beautiful. So through this job, I get the rare opportunity to not only do a skill I really love, but I also get to spend time and be an influence on an incredible group of young women.
MY LOVES
I love…. my husband, Will. He’s my best friend and he makes me a better person. I look up to him so much. My dogs, Bailey & Kelsee. You’ll get to meet them. They are spoiled and perfect. Coffee…..ohhhhhhh, coffee, how I love thee. Shopping, fashion, and style are my favorite hobby. Running. I’ve been running competitively since 7th grade and it’s a passion I can’t escape. Food. I might be small in stature, but this girl can eat and I love every minute of it. Date nights when we explore new Denver restaurants are my favorite. Laughing. I don’t take myself very seriously and love to have fun. Our sessions are always a blast and my goal is to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Hot tamales….best candy EVER!
